Navigating the Healthcare Environment — Advocating for Your Loved One

April 18 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

**** UPDATE 3/27/2020:   With the growing concern over the spread of coronavirus and in the interest of protecting the health and well-being of guests and staff, Hope Hospice has temporarily transitioned our family caregiver classes to virtual events via Zoom remote-conferencing. When you register for the following class, you will receive instructions on how to participate via Zoom.

We will evaluate the situation on a month-by-month basis. Please continue to watch this website for updates. If you have any questions, please contact our program manager Debbie Emerson at (925) 829-8770 or by email. ****

Understanding your rights and learning to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals are key to advocating for your loved ones and yourself in a complex healthcare system. Topics at this class include communicating effectively with healthcare professionals, organizing and managing personal health information, handling hospitalizations, and understanding the discharge process and follow-up care.

To register, please complete the form below; you will receive a confirmation email. If you need help, email us.

There is no cost to attend, although donations to Hope Hospice are gratefully received and allow us to continue to offer this program to others.
