The sixth annual The Hike for Hope, a memorial hike and fundraiser for Hope Hospice, raised more than $108,000 in cash and in-kind donations. Held at Del Valle Regional Park in Livermore on April 30, the Hike is one of Hope Hospice’s largest fundraising events of the year. More than 675 hikers registered to support Hope Hospice, remember loved ones and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. This year’s event was the highest grossing fundraising hike since The Hike for Hope first launched in 2010.
“The Hike for Hope celebrates the joy our loved ones brought us and raises funds for Hope Hospice,” says Melanie Ridley, co-chair of The Hike for Hope committee and member of Hope Hospice’s Board of Directors. “We all enjoyed meeting the hikers who came to support Hope Hospice and to talk to the families whom we have helped.”
The following Team Captains were awarded for their fundraising accomplishments:

“The success of this event to benefit Hope Hospice would not be possible without the participation of these individuals and organizations, and dozens of volunteers, says Anne King, co-chair of The Hike for Hope committee and also a member of the Hope Hospice Board of Directors. “We are grateful to everyone who participated.”
All of the Hike’s net proceeds are used to care for the more than 2,600 area residents Hope Hospice serves each year. For more than 35 years, Hope Hospice, a non-profit agency, has helped patients and their families find comfort and calm during their most difficult time and live each day to the fullest by providing quality end-of-life care, grief support, advanced illness care and community education.
