Volunteers – Helping Patients And Their Families
In keeping with Hope Hospice’s goal to make sure patients can live their lives to the fullest and with dignity, our volunteers provide a variety of services to enhance the quality of care of our patients’ lives.
- Can be a comforting, supportive presence and companion to patients. Their help allows caregivers to take care of themselves, get some fresh air and run errands.
- Provide emotional support to both patients and their families.
- Shop, run errands, write and mail letters and make phone calls.
- Participate in the patient’s activities such as reading, playing games, participating in crafts, watching TV or discussing current events.
Hope Hospice volunteers serve as essential members of the hospice team in various settings such as your loved one’s home, at residential care facilities, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. They maintain regular communications with Hope Hospice staff and are trained to follow all HIPAA regulations.
If you would like to request a volunteer, talk to your nurse or social worker or call Hope Hospice at (925) 829-8770, (510) 438-4917 or (800) HOSPICE.
